A community conversation centered on listening, advocacy, action & belonging.
Aquí Estamos is a community-centered space created to listen to, learn from, and uplift the voices of our Trans Latino community in Kansas City.
This gathering is about making space for honest conversation. What is our Trans Latino community experiencing right now? What do we need to better understand? Where are the gaps in resources and support? And how can our community, advocates, organizations, and local leaders better show up?
Kansas City, MO Councilmember Rea and Councilmember Duncan and Representative Wick Thomas will be in attendance to listen directly to community members, hear their experiences and concerns, answer questions, and be part of the conversation about what support and action can look like moving forward.
Together, we’ll talk about issues impacting the community, learn about advocacy and ways to take action, share resources, and most importantly, listen directly to the people whose voices should be at the center of this conversation.
This isn't just about having a conversation. We want to leave knowing what comes next—what we can support, advocate for, amplify, and build together.
